Working hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30am–6:30pm, with a one-hour lunch break

Izabella Bordignon London is a Hair Boutique in Angel, specialising in healthy hair, bespoke colour, hair and scalp treatments and elevated client experiences.
We are looking for an experienced Salon Assistant who is passionate about hairdressing and has the ambition to develop into a professional Hair Stylist within our team.
This is not simply an assistant position, we are offering a opportunity of growth. We are looking for someone who already understands the salon environment, enjoys working directly with clients, is confident with social media and wants to build a long-term career in hairdressing through structured training, practical experience and continuous development.
The Role
As a Salon Assistant, you will work closely with our Creative Director, stylists, supporting the smooth running of the salon while developing your technical and client-facing skills.
You will be expected to maintain exceptionally high standards of organisation, presentation and customer service while actively learning from the professionals around you.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming clients and providing attentive, professional customer service.
- Preparing clients and stations before appointments.
- Professional shampooing, conditioning and hair treatments.
- Providing relaxing scalp massage techniques.
- Assisting with colour services, including product preparation and application support.
- Assisting stylists during cutting, colouring and styling appointments.
- Supporting blow-dries and developing your own finishing skills.
- Preparing and sanitising tools and equipment.
- Maintaining excellent salon cleanliness and organisation throughout the day.
- Preparing the salon before opening and assisting with closing procedures.
- Monitoring and replenishing salon stock and products.
- Learning about the products, treatments and techniques used within the boutique.
- Observing consultations and developing an understanding of client needs, hair condition and service recommendations.
- Participating in regular training, technical education and internal assessments.
- Supporting the team with social media content creation and day-to-day content capture.
- Taking good-quality before-and-after photos and short-form videos of services, when appropriate and with client consent.
- Helping capture behind-the-scenes content for Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms.
- Understanding basic social media trends and recognising opportunities to create engaging salon content.
- Helping ensure that content reflects the visual standards and luxury positioning of the Izabella Bordignon London brand.
Career Development
This role is particularly suited to someone who wants to become a stylist.
You will follow a structured development programme designed to progressively build your technical skills, confidence and independence.
Development will include:
- Professional shampooing and scalp massage.
- Hair and scalp treatment knowledge.
- Blow-drying and finishing.
- Colour preparation and application.
- Technical assistance.
- Client consultation and communication.
- Product knowledge.
- Styling techniques.
- Shadowing senior professionals.
- Practical assessments and ongoing feedback.
As your skills develop and you demonstrate the required technical standard, professionalism and consistency, you will have the opportunity to progress towards Junior Stylist and eventually Stylist responsibilities within the salon.
Progression is based on ability, performance and development rather than simply length of employment.

- Is confident using social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
- Has a good eye for visually appealing photos and videos.
- Is comfortable filming short-form content using a smartphone.
- Understands current social media formats such as Reels, Stories and TikTok videos.
- Has an interest in beauty, fashion, luxury brands and digital trends.
Essential Requirements
- Previous salon experience.
- Good shampooing skills.
- Intermediate blow-drying experience.
- Intermediate understanding of colour services and salon procedures.
- Strong customer-service skills.
- Good knowledge of Instagram and TikTok.
- Confidence creating photos and short-form video content.
- Excellent spoken English.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Availability to work Saturdays.
A recognised hairdressing qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or equivalent would be advantageous, although practical ability, attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
Previous experience creating beauty, hair, fashion or lifestyle content would also be an advantage.
