Faye & Sam: From NZ to London – A Bush Hall Wedding to Remember

From the moment Faye reached out to us (all the way from New Zealand) we knew her day was going to be something truly special. Planning a wedding across time zones isn’t easy, but Faye brought nothing but warmth, joy, and a vision full of love.

The entire team and I loved working with you, and your trust in us meant the world. Watching you walk into your day with confidence, love, and laughter made every moment worth it.

Now, here’s a little more about Faye & Sam’s journey in their own words..

A love story born from football

How did you both meet?

Through our love of the Manchester United football team (not the best thing to love nowadays!)

The surprise proposal in Croatia

How did he propose to you?

Down on one knee in beautiful Croatia. I was stunned into silence, which is frankly incredible.

Pre-wedding prep after a 30-hour flight

What did you do to prepare for your special day?

Flew 30 hours from NZ! Then lots of sleep, water, good food and time with family.

The wedding day vision: Princess-inspired and full of romance

What was your inspiration?

I wanted the real ‘princess’ look if I am honest. This is my second time getting married, but this time I was really in love and I wanted it to be special.

What was your inspiration for your hair & makeup?

I just wanted a big, romantic look. Hence the big bun.

Real advice from a real bride

How was your experience with us?

Absolutely perfect. You guys took the time to do calls with me, working with my time zone issues as I was in NZ, to make sure I had what I wanted on the day. I changed my mind multiple times, including for the final time literally the day before the wedding (sorry!). After doing an amazing trial for me, I let you guys know I wanted my hair up the night before the wedding. Izabella went out of her way to arrive early on the day, and then did the up-do with NO practice on my hair doing this, and it was just perfect. It was better than I could ever have imagined. Izabella in particular, but also the whole team, were warm and friendly, and showed that their priority was not money, but making people happy. It was clear to me that Izabella would always be honest with me about what would and wouldn’t work, which was just so refreshing. She is clearly so passionate about what she does, cares about her clients and is also an absolute delight to be around.

Why Izabella Bordignon?

The amazing reviews – which I now understand!

The most memorable moment of the day

Reading our personally written vows. So emotional but so completely worth it. Also the speeches from my Dad, Sam’s Dad and my Brother, and then our speeches; so much love on show is so wonderful.

The funniest (and most unexpected) moment

Me and my Brother dancing like mad people to a song called ‘Kicking Pigeons’ by Spunge… don’t ask.

A “honeymoon” in heaven: Back to New Zealand

Where was your honeymoon?

We don’t need one! We’ve flown back to beautiful NZ which is heaven on earth! Every weekend is a honeymoon!

Advice for future IB Brides

Soak up every second, it goes so fast. And make sure the two of you spend enough time together on the day, this can be hard and you don’t want to miss that.

Words of wisdom from a bride who’s been there

Honestly given my first marriage, make sure you are really in love. Life is short. Knowing what love is now, I see how important that advice is.

About Bush Hall Wedding

Nestled in the heart of West London’s Shepherd’s Bush, Bush Hall is one of London’s most iconic and versatile wedding venues. Steeped in history and bursting with character, it was the ideal backdrop for Faye & Sam’s stylish and emotional celebration.

Originally built as an Edwardian dance hall, Bush Hall has evolved into a vibrant space for wedding receptions, live music, and private parties, all while retaining its original charm. The couple made full use of the Grand Hall, state-of-the-art AV system, and dance floor, transforming the venue into a full-blown celebration that felt more like a concert than a traditional reception a nod to Bush Hall’s rock ‘n roll past, where legends like Amy Winehouse and The Who once performed in the music venue.

Whether it was the gallery bar, the glittering disco ball, or the sense of theatrical grandeur, Bush Hall provided an unforgettable canvas for their evening party. With the help of Sugar & Rind’s expert wedding planning services, the space became a true reflection of Faye & Sam’s vibrant love story.
