Organising a wedding is one of the most exciting and challenging milestones in a couple’s life. Carol and Parker’s story is a testament to love, dedication, and the magic of their special day. Their journey, filled with love and partnership, led to a memorable wedding celebration that perfectly reflected their personalities and unique bond.
Nothing’s gonna stop their dream wedding
Parker originally planned to propose to Carol during a holiday abroad, but the pandemic forced them to cancel their trip. Not wanting to wait any longer, Parker transformed their home into a romantic and memorable treasure hunt with poems scattered throughout. Once Carol found the final clue, Parker proposed, it was an immediate ‘YES’ from her. Despite the challenges they faced during the pandemic, they cherish the journey they’ve been on.
When planning their wedding, Carol and Parker meticulously considered every aspect to reflect their essence. The boho country chic theme captured their relaxed and fun-loving personalities, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and memorable. The barn wedding meets music festival vibe, blending UK and US influences, was the perfect setting for their celebration.
Carol’s relationship with Izabella, her beauty professional, evolved into a deep friendship over seven years. Izabella was more than just a stylist; she became an integral part of Carol’s life, from hair care to wedding preparations. Izabella’s dedication and talent ensured that every detail of Carol’s big day was flawless, transforming it into an unforgettable celebration.
We want to express our gratitude to Carol for sharing her story, offering valuable insights and precious memories that will provide invaluable advice for future brides on their unique journeys. We also thank the photographer, Ryan who skillfully captured each enchanting moment.

How was your experience with us?
My experience was extremely positive from the moment I decided to work with Izabella. From the trial to the day of my wedding she was nothing but supportive, accommodating, and a true talent in bringing my vision to life.
Izabella and her team are also extremely organised and provided me, and later my wedding planners, with a detailed plan for the day, what would be needed at each stage, and how to best prepare. That made a huge difference in making me feel less anxious about getting ready on time and in the right way for me.
Why did you choose us?
Izabella has been taking care of my hair for over 7 years now. She actually rescued my hair from a horrible colour job and little by little – as she promised on day one – brought it back to life. I trust no one else with my colour. I love her optimism, attitude and incredible talent. I had been seeing her wedding work on Instagram for years and when it was my turn I couldn’t trust anybody else. So much so that I decided to fly her all the way to Nashville for my big day!
What was your inspiration for your wedding day?
The wedding was boho country chic. The inspiration was something in the lines of a barn wedding meets music festival. UK meets US. Cool, easy, memorable. I wanted a party where I could be an improved version of myself and not feel like I was wearing a costume – or cosplaying as a bride. I wanted to dance, have fun, and be able to talk to our friends and family who flew from all over the world to be there and look wonderful doing that.
How did you both meet?
Oooh. At work. Parker was transferred from New York to London. I was already here. We flirted a little and one thing led to another…
How did he propose to you?
He had big plans to propose during a trip abroad, but COVID hit and we were in lockdown. When it became clear we would be in the house for a long time he decided not to wait…he planned a treasure hunt in our living room, pretending I’d get a massage at the end of it. The hunt was made of little poems about our life together, hidden in photos and wall art or other things we acquired together during the years. It was super romantic. When I finally got the last one and could open the living room door the whole house was filled with candles and rose petals and I turned the corner to see him there on his knees. It was an immediate YES!
Did you DIY anything?
Hmm..no. It was planned from London, so that made it hard to do anything myself. But I had wonderful planners who got the idea and made things come to life exactly as I wanted. Oh, wait, does playlists count? We actually put a lot of playlists together for the guests to enjoy both before and after the ceremony. That was fun and till this day I smile when a song that’s in one of them starts playing.
What did you do to prepare for your special day?
Well, I worked out A LOT. But there was a lot more prepping things for the wedding itself than myself to be honest. Oooh and I did get a cheeky fake tan – there’s a first time for everything!
What was your inspiration for your hair & makeup?
I wanted a fake bob from the start, to keep it fun and flirty. I like messy hair so I didn’t want anything to put together. I had a photo of a hair I loved and we started from there.
What was a memorable moment for you?
So many!!! I think walking down the grass lawn aisle from the barn to the ceremony space, by myself because my dad couldn’t make it, was one of the most memorable moments for me. I felt so beautiful and empowered in myself, whilst at the same time supported by all the people who were there to share that love with us which made it so special. I love that Parker walked up the aisle to meet me halfway as he always does. It was the perfect start to a beautiful ceremony, filled with love and partnership.
The funniest moment on the day was something that surprised you?
The kids were amazing. Everyone said we shouldn’t have kids at our wedding, but because ours was delayed so much – we waited a few years to actually celebrate our wedding with our families and friends – we ended up having a little boy and wanted to include him. That meant opening up the celebration to other kids as well. They were fun, loving, and extremely kind. One little cousin on Parker’s side actually said I looked like a real life modern princess. That was such a highlight of the day! Ah, and they were all dressed SO WELL. We even had a full mini cowboy outfit and I just loved that.
Have you had your Honeymoon?
It didn’t happen just yet. It took us 3 years to have the wedding due to multiple changes in date because of the pandemic. I joke that it will take another 3 years for us to have a honeymoon.
Any Advice for Future IB Brides?
Trust Izabella and her team! She’s extremely experienced and knows weddings more than anyone you’ll ever meet. She made crucial recommendations about my look, from moving away from the faux bob to building in a braid that could be more fun for dancing later, to a colour palette that looked better with my complexion and eye colour. She recommended what boob tape would work best with my dress, and how to smile down the aisle. Seriously, and it all worked out perfectly because I trusted her!
