Kim decided she wanted to take a gap year and travel, but eventually, the time came for her to return to work. On her first day, she was seated next to the most handsome man, Joel, the man who would soon sweep her off her feet and become her husband.
During a romantic trip to the Alps, Kim and Joel went on a snowy walk. As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold, Joel saw the perfect moment. As time seemed to slow down, he got on one knee and popped the question.
Their story isn’t just a love story – it’s the kind of narrative that belongs in the pages of a classic romance, where happily-ever-afters aren’t just imagined but inevitable. They had their civil ceremony at Fulham Library, a historic wedding venue, perfect to those who love their history.

Why Hollywood Waves are the perfect choice for your bridal hair
For her wedding ceremony, she decided to choose our signature Hollywood Waves. This perfectly complimented her wedding dress, turning her into the beautiful modern bride we see.
“I chose the Hollywood waves and it was a success. Everyone kept telling me how great my hair looked.”
How did you both meet?
“My husband and I met at work, and it feels like fate looking back. I was on a gap year on the other side of the world, just wanting to travel, but I needed a job to keep going. I found a temporary position, and there he was—the most handsome man sitting right next to me in the office (lucky me!). It started with a simple “good morning,” then grew into asking, “how was your weekend?” From there, we became friends, started hanging out, and before long, a few dates turned us into boyfriend and girlfriend.”
How did he propose to you?
During a trip to the Swiss Alps, Kim received her dream proposal. A normal stroll in the snowy woods, turns into the perfect day in her life.
“Joel took me on a winter trip to the Swiss Alps. We stayed in a hotel facing the Matterhorn. On our first day there we went for a walk in the woods in the snow. The sun was setting and the sky was pink. And he got on one knee!”
What did you DIY for your wedding that was worth the effort?
Creating your own decorations can save you some money as well as adding your own personal touch to your big day! Kim made her own arch as an Aisle decoration which created the most stunning backdrop for her photos.
“For my big day, I made my own arch and Aisle decorations. It was fun to be creative plus it did save us some money!”
Don’t drink coffee the day before your big day
Drinking caffeine the day before your wedding can leave you with heightened emotions, leaving you not to have a goodnight sleep. Kim ensured she woke up on her special day feeling well rested and excited!
“I didn’t do any diets but I made sure I worked out regularly at least 5 months before the wedding. The day before the wedding I also made sure I didn’t have any coffee so I would sleep well that night.”
What inspired your hair and makeup choices?
Her hair and makeup perfectly complemented the vibe of her wedding day. It’s so important that your hair and makeup align with your personal style and wedding theme. This not only creates a cohesive look for your photos but also helps you feel confident and radiant on your special day.
“I’ve always thought Hollywood waves look so elegant and unique. It’s not a hairstyle I’d wear on just any night out, so it felt perfect for such a special occasion.”
What was a memorable moment for you?
Walking down the aisle is one of the most exciting and emotional parts of your wedding day. It’s a moment filled with anticipation, but also comfort, as you’re surrounded by loved ones who are there to celebrate you. The best part?
“I think the moment I walked down the aisle and saw the faces of my loved ones and the excitement in Joel’s face. Also hearing his vows was very memorable for me. He found the perfect words to express his love and it was just beautiful.”
Let the celebration begin: The wedding reception
After the ceremony, it’s time to shift gears and enjoy the wedding reception. This is where the real celebration happens—on the dance floor, catching up with loved ones you haven’t seen in a while, and soaking in the joy of being surrounded by friends and family. It’s all about creating unforgettable memories with the newlyweds.
“I was happy to see how everyone had such a lovely time and how everyone danced and had fun.”

An exotic destination is the perfect choice for a honeymoon, combining romance, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. Kim and Joel chose the breathtaking paradise of Hawaii for their special getaway.
How To Keep Your Wedding Day Stress-Free
We ensure every bride has an amazing experience with us. As time was slowly running out and Kim was still not dressed, Izabella swooped in helping her, making sure she had a stress free, fantastic wedding day.
“Izabella saw that time was running out and I still wasn’t dressed. My bridesmaid was still getting her makeup done and the other ones were busy so she offered to help me put on my dress. She really goes above and beyond and is super professional about it! Has a lovely aura and is just super helpful. I’m really grateful to her and her team!”
Wedding Planning
Wedding planning can be a mix of excitement, stress, and countless details to juggle. To ensure her big day was as stress-free as possible, Kim decided to hire a wedding coordinator for the day. This thoughtful choice allowed her to enjoy a calm and relaxing morning while getting ready, setting the stage for a truly fantastic wedding day.

About Weddings at Fulham Library
This historic wedding venue, Fulham library, was built in 1908 at 598 Fulham Road and has an amazing wedding space, able to fit 120 wedding guests. Only recently, Fulham Library has started accepting wedding bookings, starting in 2016. This venue has started to become very popular due to it unique design and accessible location. The rules at Fulham Library are very flexible allowing you to have a personalised wedding, and stunning photos for your unforgettable wedding.
Inside Fulham Library, they have original wooden book cabinets, perfect to provide the perfect backdrop. The library’s Fine Art Collection Corridor provides backdrop for photographs.
